Layers for Artists

One of Gill's lino cut prints - from the beach finds picked up on our trip to Norfolk.

This one has been printed in stages, the blue sand/water is thinned down (extended!) and printed over the seaweed and shell.  Rather like adjusting the opacity of a layer in PS?   Gill says there is around 4:1 extender to ink to get the translucent look she wanted.

In the extra - hung out to dry!
Also illustrates why side lighting from a window may not be the best for photographing art works :-)
