Live it loud!

Lyveden Cottage

Gail and I had a day out today unencumbered by children or dog. A nice trip to one of the nearer NT properties that we hadn't been to. And most peculiar it is too. An Elizabethan house that was never finished (due to lack of money and life) of the owner Sir Thomas Tresham. There is no roof or floors inside but you can wander around the shell. This blip is of the cottage just a few yards away.

We went expecting little in the way of conveniences (according to the NT year book), but this pretty little place has just been converted into a little tearoom. In fact, just is the operative word - they opened just two days ago. There is no signage outside - you guess by the fact that people are sat outside with cream teas!

The experience today also showed that all the staff are getting to grips with the equipment. Paying for everyone was an experience. The cash register seemed to be causing some problems and the constant string of people getting the story about how confusing it was kept us amused. Thankfully, when it came to our turn, payment went without problem. Just don't expect it to be a quick transaction....

I managed to get quite a few images today and had to substitute my planned blip for this one. The colours are just too good reflecting this wonderful spring day.

Looking forward to more!
