Dolphins

MM456: Dolphins

I love the two matching arcs formed by these fallen trees.

To me it is the arc of the marine mammal as it beaches the surface; briefly glimpsing the life on dry land rejected by its ancestors millennia before; only to dive back down into the comforting deep again.

Perhaps you see something different in the drying, cracking wood, bereft of most of its bark?  Feel free.  Something less poetic perhaps?  Maybe only a useful source of heating material for the hard winter ahead?

Me, I'll stick with the dolphins :-)
