Great White Egret

Backblip

Another lovely sunny day and we went to Ham Wall Nature Reserve on the  Somerset Levels.

It was mostly reedbeds with a canal running through.  We saw dragonflies and Speckled Wood butterflies as well as birds.  We saw all three types of egret, (Little and cattle Egrets). Two Great White Egrets were on one of the pools and one kept sending the other away which is my blip.

The highlight of the trip was seeing a marsh harrier flying around looking for prey there's a photo in extras.  There's also a shot of a group of lapwings in flight.

In the evening it rained heavily but we were able to get a parking place right outside the pub where we had a meal.
