Acorns

The ground in this area of the park is covered with a thick layer of acorns.  I'm not sure whether it has been a particularly good year for acorns, but I don't remember such a thick carpet in previous years.

The new battery has arrived and has been fully charged.  The laptop now seems to be running satisfactorily on battery power.  The new battery has a lower capacity than the original, so I do not expect a single charge to last as long as the original did when it was new, but it is still looking way better than the current performance of the original battery.  The "time remaining" estimate varies wildly from moment to moment but it looks like it will give me adequate time for my needs.
