A weight lifted

Thank you for yesterday. My gloom and despondency over the appointment of a new PM lifted this evening with the announcement that Boris Johnson is not running.

Perhaps all the frothing frenzy over Boris is a distraction from problems of a deeper nature, we’re all so thankful that it won’t be Boris that we’ll take an alternative with relief!

It’s been a weary old day. Torrential rain and thunder first thing, a poor night’s sleep owing to Covid which seems to ebb and flow. I’ve had to withdraw from a turn on the railway on Wednesday. I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to make my next turn on Saturday.

We’re not going to be able to see Chris while he’s over either. The risk is too great. That’s been a further disappointment which combined with Covid and Boris has not been conducive to a positive mental attitude. Perhaps today is a turning point?

Despite feeling tired we went for a short walk which turned into a wet walk and ended with this spectacular rainbow and sunset. Look at how different that light is inside the rainbow.
