Bell House through the trees

The unseasonably warm autumn weather continued today with temperatures peaking at 18c. A much less eventful day than yesterday, thank goodness. Peeled onions now in jars in pickling vinegar maturing for two weeks.

We both felt a little better today, me less tired. Perhaps we’re over the worst. Susan is still positive which means I will be too.

The news isn’t any better though and continues to be appalling. People who a few months ago called for Boris Johnson’s resignation now want to welcome him back with open arms. “All is forgiven, you naughty little tinker, don’t do it again…” Beneath that veneer of buffoonery is a coldly calculating, self centred…. I’ll leave you to add any other words or phrases. All Boris cares about is himself.

As many have said, how is it that he’s been away from Parliament during term time, at a time of this monumental crisis, on a paid speaking tour and then on holiday. That’s how much he cares. “What a lovable rogue he is…”

Will the traditionally phlegmatic, disinterested and disenchanted majority of people create a ruckus or will we just shrug our collective shoulders in a gesture of “what can we do anyway”

I may have said too much…. maybe I’ll be asked to amend….
