How Y'All Doing? We're On A Train!

Shouted from a window in the next carriage to us at some high-vis railway workers as we pulled out of Toddington Station.

We've had a very enjoyable day on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam railway.

The main blip was taken when the engine was being moved at Cheltenham Racecourse Station. It was moving away from us, so the boy with his head out of the window and me with my camera were in no danger!

Rory enjoyed the experience and the views (first extra) but maybe the best bit was the bacon rolls made to order and delivered to our table in the first class 'saloon'. Definitely potential here for a blipmeet, though the day rover tickets we bought were quite pricey at £25. A nice first class touch was the table lamps which were switched on as we went through the tunnel near Winchcombe (second extra which I have kept dark to avoid the view of mrsfb eating the aforementioned bacon roll).

We stayed on the train for the whole trip, including the line extension to Broadway. Back in Toddington we watched the engine for one last time and I liked the little boy in red matching the colour of the engine nameplate (third extra). While we were watching the guard spoke to Rory and said that when he was his age he was a trainspotter and used to see this engine almost every day. He never thought that all these years later he would be a volunteer here, in uniform, and be seeing the same engine, much restored.

Hoping to watch the Pompey v Oxford live stream this evening. Rory is mildly interested I think, mrsfb not very enthusiastic.

What A Mess!
I forgot to say yesterday that the plumber did come to replace the flush on the toilet. It took about 10 minutes.
