Wooden Man And Friends

Apologies for two more shots of Rory, but it was his last day with us. In fact his mum came to collect him mid afternoon so we had decided just to do one of our Sherborne walks in the morning. Mrsfb made it more interesting by composing a poem full of riddles for him to solve by finding various sculptures, buildings etc along the route. It was rather good and I would have reproduced it here but she has slapped a D-Notice on it. In the spirit of publish and be damned though the main blip was covered in the verse beginning 'Trying to find the wooden man ...' and the extra was described by 'This fly does no flying ....'. We couldn't actually solve all the riddles as part of the path was closed due to ongoing tree cutting so we didn't find a couple of sculptures.

Rory was impressed with the yellow paths through the estate saying they reminded him of a yellow brick road. I couldn't believe that he hadn't heard of Captain Beefheart before. I must speak to his mum and dad.

He wasn't impressed though with the Pompey match last night. Neither was I, it was awful, especially the first half. My early season optimism has evaporated.

Camera club this evening (Northleach), second one this week. I forgot say that I got second prize in the raffle at the Monday meeting (Cirencester), a box of After Eight mints, which have nearly all gone now.
