Wonky wonder

We're heading back north in a fairly leisurely fashion and visited this wonderful place. Apparently it's a wonder that it's still standing as its trying hard to fall over, but I was captivated by it's in-your-face pretensions (the 16th century owners were keen to show off their wealth with fabulous woodwork).  For us, it's lucky that they were bankrupted by the Civil War as they couldn't afford to modify it subsequently.

LD & D were back by late lunchtime which gave us a chance to finish off tidying the front garden where the lavender and agapanthus had had a really great summer. Obviously they had enjoyed the hot, dry summer down here!

Berry is not having a good time though :-(
