Mind the flames!

LD finally managed to blow the candles out on her cake today. Too much celebratory food on previous days meant she hadn't fancied cake previously so D and I spent some while lighting all the candles today, just for fun :-)

D cut himself badly after dropping a couple of milk bottles and had to go to Minor Injuries to get glass removed. That brings out catalogue of disasters to three so I'm really hoping that is IT for this trip. Luckily, he was back in time to do the candles and was being very stoical about it. 

Whilst the others watched football and rugby league I tidied up the garden. Neither owner of this space is interested enough in actual gardening to prioritise it over plenty of other tasks and I have to say it was a joy to get the space looking lovely. 

Tonight we are cat sitting whilst the younger generation meet up with friends in Birmingham for more 30th birthday fun.
