Chasing the sun

We had tasks in town which meant our walk didn't start until around 2 o'clock, with the sun already low in the sky. We kept moving to stay in the sun, first to the northern corner of the beach, then further and further out along the rocks, towards the open sea. The shadow of the hill across the bay chased us across the stones. Finally we stood on a little rise and watched the sun go down behind that hill. In 5 minutes we went from having a warm sun on our faces, to standing in cold shadow.
So we were happy to find the sun still shining on the forest, on the far side of Klubb Tarn. We couldn't reach it, but the contrast of shadowed trees and sunlit trees was very beautiful. The air was totally still, the reflections perfect.
We stood and listened. Silence. Almost silence, a few quiet chirps, and whirring of wings, as a few small birds foraged around us. We are a long way from roads here.
On a day like this a lot of photos were taken and it was quite hard to choose, but eventually I was left with two pictures. I chose this one because the other is a puzzling image, with silhouettes and a reflected forest loosening the ideas of up and down a little. You can see that one in the extra.
