Gorgeous, gorgeous day

The trees are still full of color. The sun was shining and, combined with a touch of fog, looked incredible this morning. One of my trees on my deck is all orange leaves. My Fireflow in the yard has resumed being red (it turned green due to shade). Summer Gold never turned yellow, due to shade, but its top leaves are red now. My Crazy Love dahlias are still blooming like crazy.

The other day a crow cawed and Karen brought out dog food and peanuts. The crow continued cawing because it wanted CHEETOS!!!

Thanks to jMcLean I know about the lesbian polar bear mothers on Peppa Pig. WOW! I also know that American children are running around speaking in British accents. They say, "telly" and "Father Christmas." "Water closet!!" Do you have any idea how many times I messed up what a WC was in Iceland? Kate had to correct me at least ten times, but American children, thanks to Peppa Pig, know. Thanks to Miranda I finally know what the heck Boris Johnson was saying at that press conference that had everyone all wigged out. I don't really understand why Peppa Pig's World would be such a big deal. It has nine rides. Nine. BUT! If Boris likes it so much, he should check out the one in Florida because apparently we have one too and since Florida's governor doesn't like Disney anymore... wait, DeSantis probably doesn't know about the polar bears.

Why is Russia so obsessed with Britain? They claim you are waging war on them with cartoons. They pretend you sabotaged the Nord Stream Pipeline. They are blaming you for a drone attack in Crimea. It accused the UK navy helped with the drone attacks on Sevastopol.

Vladimir Putin’s leading propagandist advocated launching hypersonic Satan-2 missiles at Britain. Mid-September his Land Rover Freelander and a golf cart were destroyed in a 2 am attack at his resort in Crimea.

Ha.

A few days ago there was a protest in Czech opposing the EU and telling NATO to negotiate with Russia for gas. Two days later, on Sunday, tens of thousands waved Czech, US, NATO, and Ukrainian flags and voiced support for Ukraine. Million Moments for Democracy organized it and signs read, "We can handle it."

Different governments are doing and advocating different things to save energy. In Switzerland the environmental minister suggested people shower together to save energy. Then there was a backlash so she backtracked and said, "after a certain age, showering together is  no longer suitable for everyone." I don't know that I agree with this.

Macron pledged that France will help Ukraine get through the winter, will help strengthen Ukraine's air defense capabilities, and will help repair its energy infrastructure.

Estonia's Prime Minister, Kaja Kallas, said the way to peace is "to push Russia out....Even if you have peace, but there's occupation, it doesn't mean that the human suffering for those people will stop." The price of fatigue is too high because "if the aggression pays off somewhere, it serves as an invitation to use it elsewhere."
