Live and Learn

Well, I always assumed these were celandines, but discovered today that more likely a type of ranunculus, known as autumn buttercup (ranunculus bullatus), or blistered-leaved crowfoot.

Anyway, it's obviously rained enough for them to appear all over our Land, and around, and I do love their cheerfulness. No good rain as yet here, but it's damp, and cool enough to light the woodburner for the first time, bit of a luxury, but Mike spent the day sitting, working on tax returns - which should be simple, but seems it isn't.

Gratefuls:
- walking into town and a couple of good conversations
- making a batch of marmalade (seven large jars), and another batch on the way (though it's barely made a dent in the oranges piling up everywhere)
- a good chat with my boy tonight
