Ducky Splash

We had a lazy start today. The first job was to get a can of Calor gas which we weren't able to get at home. We were successful at the third stockist.

That done we went to the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust HQ and nature reserve at Wolseley Bridge. That kept us busy for several hours and it was fun talking to photographers. I had thought that a bad photo of a kingfisher (see Extra) was better than no picture of a kingfisher but then I saw my shots and just had to blip the diving duck. Mallards aren't regarded as a diving species but these ones were diving deep, time and time again for conkers! Their crops must have been rammed full of them.

The splash "duck" isn't a Photoshop creation of mine. It's real, with only slight Levels adjustments as you have to do with RAW files.

Late in the afternoon, we went next door to the garden centre. It was so unusual for me not to want a cup of coffee. I'm not known to leave garden centres without coffee and cake!
