Fireworks

Our boat syndicate meeting went well and we were finished shortly after 2 pm.

We had a trip into Rugely for a look around the shops then it was back to the caravan for a little rest before going to Rugely bonfire and firework display.

Well! The organisers must put a lot of work into this event but what a fiasco! They closed off a road and sent us around in circles looking for a parking place and being strangers, we hadn't a clue where to go. Eventually we got one of the last places on a school yard. Then there was a walk. We still managed to get there in time for 5.30 pm, the start time. We were shocked to hear the plan for the evening over the tannoy. The fire wasn't to be lit until 6 pm. Some of the fireworks would start after 7 pm and the rest at 8 pm! What???? The thought of standing in one place for 3.5 hours was dreadful.

Of course, the fireworks were amazing, such an improvement of the bangers, Roman candles and rockets of our childhood.

Now what's got me really cross is that the 135 shots I took with the Canon and good quality lens are no better than the 5 I took on the cheap phone!
