If you can't beat them...

Fireworks

As it was "Bonfire Night" we booked tickets for the firework display at Rugeley Cricket Club.  The fireworks and the bonfire were good, the organisation was "booze up in a brewery standard. The tickets said start 5:30 so we arrived in good time to find the road closed.  Inquiring of the marshals they said "turn left, turn right at the top, turn right again then right again" and talk to the people we could see a hundred yards away.  One problem was between the first right turn and the one we needed there were a number of right turns into housing estates.

Eventually, we arrived at the men we had been told to go to.  Question where to park?  Go up there to those men and they will tell you.  So we arrived back at the first men who said "what are they playing at".  Go back round and straight in friont of you is a school, parking is in their grounds.  Well the school might have been straight in front if you drove uphill across grass, in reality, it was left then right.

Finally, we got into the grounds and found a good place right at the barrier. After about 10 minutes the DJ announced the programme for the evening.  Bonfire lit 6:30  Children's fireworks 7:30 and adult fireworks 8:00.  So we stood for an hour until the fire was lit then another hour until the children's fireworks which incidentally were just the same as the adult ones later. the about 20 minutes until the adult fireworks.

Fortunately the fire kept us warm and the fireworks were really impressive, which is more than can be said for my photos.  As I said to Clickychick the trouble with taking fireworks photos is practice, you can only practice once a year.
