Kirkwall Skyline

Father Connolly made a very welcome return during the morning dancing.  Once we had been let out, we went through to the Stromness café for lunch.  Amazing is the only word for our visit to Phyllis in the Hamnavoe Carehome.  Only six weeks past she was in the Kirkwall Hospital with pneumonia.  She struggled  through and was ready for home but  caught Covid just before discharge.  Her sons were called to her bedside and things looked decidedly grim.  However she’s made of tough stuff (was reared in the Finstown foothills).  Today, at 93 she was extremely with it and perky.  A joy to visit her.  She was very sharp and indicated she has no intention of going anywhere.

In career development news I have just been informed I will be in full, solo, charge of the Hoy bolt hole from Wed through to Sat.  Promotion at last.
