Mask Man

This is our friend Mike. He is a carver. He makes amazing carvings in the style of Northwest native art. He studied with one of the best Lummi carvers. He is not a native but his work communicates the love he has for the NW native style of work. Here he is wearing a mask he is making. It is almost finished. Click L for the larger version.

Arvin and I went to Mike and his wife Elaine's home to take photos of her paintings and then join them for dinner of salmon caught by the two of them. Elaine's work is really amazing. I take photos of my painting buddy's paintings to earn a bit and to help them to enter shows and present their work online and in print. I took photos of 23 of Elaine's paintings today.

Later we were joined by our teacher Trish and her husband Tom. The dinner was scrumptious and the conversation lively. We had a great evening together.
