Pots

A different kind to the other day.

Pottery introduction course part two this afternoon.  We were shown how to build coil pots and had the opportunity to try making one but I chose to continue to fettle the two that I had begun last week.  They were leather hard, ie partly dry but still workable.   Having started off looking a bit chunky, I am pleased with how they look now after having been scraped, shaved, scooped and hand moulded.  Mine are the two on the right, simple shapes.  Bisque firing, glazing and second firing awaits.

Pottery was the afternoon pleasure.  This morning's was a long walk with C and the Megs in unseasonably warm sunshine, the winter hats and coats left behind.   An evening meal with Ruth and Jamie plus a meet-up with my Mum    A blue sky extra and a beach after-sunset extra on a lovely day.
