Winter Jasmine

This morning we watched the Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph in London, on the television. It was as moving as ever. So glad  the weather  was kind to the thousands of participants, some of whom were very elderly.
Then I had a quick wander in my Mum's  garden,  and was delighted to discover a small branch of   Winter  Jasmine  (Jasminum nudiflorum) has grown through  a small gap in the fence from next door, and is already in flower.
This  afternoon, a very kind and jolly couple from down the road popped in for tea and a chat. They are members of the local reading group, to which my mother also belongs. We were all pleased to see them, and to catch up on local news.

My mother was tired today after her outing yesterday and visitors  this afternoon so has taken herself  off to bed at 8.30pm. She was  annoyed with herself that she  feels so tired and confused and forgetful, but I think she'll feel better in the morning after a good night's sleep.
