November garden

I had the luxury, today, of a long catch-up with my Greek language revision and homework.  There's something very soothing about focusing on verb endings when it feels as if we're heading to hell in a handcart faster than ever before. These days my spoken Greek is still just about keeping pace with three year old Frieda's :-)

I broke up the hours of screen time with a wander round the garden, where the 'monthly rose', or 'Rosa Old Blush' is still offering blooms. It's not a vigorous plant, but it flowers for many months in the year. Very little seems to discourage it, and the scent is wonderful.

Talking of not being discouraged, I have often wondered where best to send any donations to support Ukraine's continuing battle for survival.  Here's a portal that allows you to donate for humanitarian purposes. And/or to donate for anti-drone defence systems, which - just now - get my vote, in terms of protecting what remains of the energy infrastructure in Ukraine. This link is recommended by historian Prof Timothy Snyder, whose articles and YouTube videos about Ukraine and its history are excellent.
