The Front Yard (Thursday 17th November 2022)

As promised yesterday, despite the light being no better this morning, this is how the Front Yard looks after the installation of two new whisky barrel tubs on Woody Wednesday. One now houses the camellia in its new position against a neighbouring wall, where it hides one drainpipe if not the other, and the second contains ten new blue poppies, protected from the birds by dried stalks used as canes.

Stick In The Wheel - White Copper Alley (2018)
Stick In The Wheel are a fascinating East London-based folktronic outfit, with the distinctive vocals of Nicola Kearey. I recently heard this track from Follow Them True  on Mark Radcliffe's Folk Show (Radio Two).
