Party Boy

The sun looked like it was going to come out as we drove down to the museum gardens to celebrate Boys upcoming birthday with a few of his little friends. In fact it ended up being an absolute scorcher of a day where we struggled to keep up with the sun cream applications, they were needed so frequently.

Once there the friends started to arrive and it was not long till we were surrounded by lots of little ones charging around us. After a classic party food picnic for all I went to the car to get the cake. When I came back all the grown ups and smaller children were sitting on the benches at the far end of the garden while the older little ones were standing in front of them.

It turned out they were putting on a show of Rapunzel. There was a lot od Boys standing about as the Girls took on the main parts. I am not sure how much of the story they managed to convey to the audience before it was time to lower the curtains in time for Boy to blow out his candles on his skatepark cake (baked by Wife and decorated by me).

He was very pleased with the cake, even if it was a little shoddily decorated. After the cake was dished out and the obligatory pass the parcel took place it was time to say goodbye to our guests. The sun at this point was roasting so instead of heading for home we decided to hang around and open some presents.

Not long after a load more friends passed through meaning we got to have more fun in the sun. Luckily for Boy his favourite person to cuddle also appeared too.
