Birthday cake decorations by S

A lovely family gathering at the Riverhead Tavern for a late lunch. For Young L's birthday celebration (his actual birthday is next week). It also allowed us to support daughter J who had the sad task of taking her 18 year old cat to the vet, as the cancer he had fought for more than a year was finally too much.

Afterwards we gathered at ours for the cake. By each candle (one for each year reached) S placed one of the polyhedral D&D dice which formed part of his present from his Granny and me. Now when he plays D&D on a ZOOM call with his uncle Tsuken and cousin Z and a couple of others (I think), he can roll his dice at home rather than use the online app.. He was rather chuffed.

The extra 24 hours after the orthodontal work meant that he was able to fully enjoy the meal and the cake.

Now a quiet evening with Tsuken and J; the former will be returning to Sydney tomorrow.
