A little before midnight but having taken Meg out, I'm blipping after twelve.

A very productive day clearing and sorting at Ruth's.  Still really only scraping the surface of the problem but the place looks better and if the full bins and the load of rubbish and cardboard in my car are a measure, we made a difference!   Ruth will be coming back here for Jamie's birthday on Thursday and staying until early December.   While she's away, we're arranging a deep clean of the flat and on her return we hope that a couple of new support folk may be available plus a cleaner to help her keep on top of things.  Fingers crossed.

I planted these Cyclamen persicum - a cultivated form, not the true species - about a year ago.  The horticultural forms are bred for speed of growth and flower colour.  The wild cyclamen take longer to mature and most often have subtler shades  of pink.  These, not hardy outside, are a welcome splash of winter colour in the porch where the achimenes live in summer.
