It’s Back

What a day!  I eventually walked 23.5k steps !

Started off with a Heartstart lifesaving workshop in one of the rooms in the old Perth Royal Infirmary.  Our trainer from Heartstart was Helen and there was 10 of us there primarily to teach us the right procedure and techniques to use to save a persons life.  How to get them into the recovery position and also using a defibrillator.  All very good, and tell you what, giving CPR is hard work!

Next up was the main event of Perth which hasn’t happened in three years!  The Christmas Lights switch on.  A whole day of performances and music in various parts of the city .  Tay street was closed off and the main stage was set up there and Horsecross had A free meet Santa for the kids and also a stage too.  There was Christmas Huts set up on the High Street with all local traders in them which is a better idea in these times rather supporting them rather than the continental market from the past.

The highlight was firstly the large parade starting at 5:30 going through the streets.  I always love this then round to Tay street for the lights switch on and the fireworks afterwards set off from over the other side of the river.  So good to see so many people enjoying themselves again after the shitty Covid years.  Fireworks were good. Stephen Mulhearn was back again compering it. Then various semi famous people performing. The first one was Cascada who my daughter knew but I did not. The place was jumping!  Amazing night.

Also, so lucky with the weather if it has been a day earlier would have had to be cancelled due to torrential rain.  No shortage of water here!!!

Caught up with the Strictly show from Blackpool later which was brilliant.  I’ve not been watching the jungle but tuned in to see if it had improved but sadly not.  Not a very entertaining bunch.  I heard George talking about how false they were and not playing their true selfs.  Probably true.  It used to be really enjoyable years ago but nowadays it’s just a waste of viewing time.
