Part 2

Another good day with the festivities in the town. Not as busy as yesterday obviously, but the stage still up at the concert hall plaza.

Drove down to Laura’s and then walked into town with her and Ben. S was away at Linlithgow paddleboarding - away at 7:30! Ben was having a practice session for the pantomime at his drama club. Laura and I walked round to the concert hall where inside the foyer there was a brilliant selection Of local craft maker stalls. One of my favourites was there, Whimsical Lush and bought one of her prints and Laura bought a notebook with one of her designs on the cover. There was a lady who made various things with her sewing machine and Laura bought a toilet bag to use as a pencil case for her work stuff made from Liberty prints. She said she only uses good fabrics but again, good prices.

We then had a look at the fabulous cake makers area. So many clever bakers made designs of buildings and structures in Perthshire. I was amazed at the designs made from cake from these clever people. The soup competition was judged by the provost, and then the stall handed out free soup to the punters. Delicious, I love a good soup and saved us going for lunch!

Then we watched some of the performers on the stage, Clare Sweeney was looking great in a sparkly gold jumpsuit and I was surprised how good she sounded!

It was time for a coffee so off we went to the High Street where we then bumped into Stewart back from his paddle. We went into Nero and sat and had a good chat over coffee and cake.

Decided to walk back to the Plaza and the cake winners had been announced and the makers were handing out slices . We picked up quite a few slices and it was handy to put them in the free compost bin the council were handing out for home food waste. The cakes were amazing. It seemed a shame to cut into the designs but all us bystanders appreciated the free cake.

The Atholl pipe band piped the bakers up the road for us to cheer at , the clever people.

The local dance school had performers on the stage and we watched them for a while. Mainly doing the street dancing like Diversity.

We then walked up to see mum who wasn’t feeling great. I made her tea and tidied up and had a chat.

Walked back up to Laura’s where my car was. Laura had given Dave a bit of cake to eat and then when he finished told him it was from the displays and he was almost up the wall with shock. I don’t understand those folks that worry about stuff like this, he’s too fussy - free cake what’s the problem LOL. We’ve had a few slices of various ones and all good.

Another day of large step counts - over 17k and walked off the sore hip.

The blue from the fairground ride is making strange colour hue on the band!
