Part of Minchinhampton Common adjacent to the town

I love this part of the common, which has a landscape very like a traditional 'wooded parkland' as described by Oliver Rackham in his famous book – 'The History of the Countryside'.

Today I was in one of the nearby valleys making a delivery, when I sensed the thick mists and low clouds might be lifting. I drove up from Nailsworth to the top of the common, through the small town and saw the light breaking through onot the beech leaves. I had to stop to grab a picture of the last leaves of autumn.
