Victoria's Graduation

I left home at 0600 hours, with my daughter, to go to Victoria’s Graduation at Rochester Cathedral. She has gained a first-class honours degree in applied Science, from Kent University, while working as an apprentice at GlaxoSmithKline. She was taken on as a full-time employee long before she gained her degree.

We met Victoria and her husband Jake and her brother Oliver for coffee, then photographs and the ceremony. It rained while we queued at the door, but there was only one family of four in front of us and we had brilliant seats. The sun was shining when we exited the cathedral so I took lots of photographs before having lunch. We returned home in the daylight and before the hail storm arrived.

The light was poor in the Cathedral and we were not allowed to use flash. The Graduands were moving very fast so it was a matter of clicking as much as you could and hope for the best. Today’s picture is of Victoria as she shook hands. There are extras, one is of her throwing her mortar board in the air, one with her husband wearing his blue wedding suit and one with her brother. I have posted one of her with her mum on my husband’s journal. I was told off twice for taking photographs in the wrong places!!

The temperature at noon today was eight degrees Celsius.
