The hands that hold the map

A day of 2 halves weatherwise. Headed over Exmoor in the morning, the weather was foul but managed to snap a photo of some wild ponies through the car window (see extra - quite like it, seemed to capture the mood quite well!)

It was still throwing it down by the time we got over to Dulverton so carried on to Exford but the cafe was closed and it was still hammering it down so we ended up driving back over Exmoor to Porlock. Had lunch in Whortleberry Tearoom, apt because I had whortleberry jam. They like their whortleberries in these parts :-)

The weather had turned for the better at this point so we went to Minehead where I photographed the hands and map sculpture. It marks the start of the South West Coast Path. Had a little walk around the harbour end of town and was pleased to see that Baba Yaga was still about (see extra). Came back to Watchet via Blue Anchor Bay.

We seemed to cover a lot of ground today and the day ended with a pretty sunset. Red sky at night...
