The Game Is Afoot

On our walk around Kirkby Lonsdale, on Wednesday, we stopped to look in the window of a bookshop and spotted this card game. What made it interest us is that it's based on the highly acclaimed book Lost Words, written by Robert MacFarlane and illustrated by Jackie Morris.

Robert is the son of notable local photographers, John and Rosamund..

We're seeing #2 Daughter soon so we will try the game out before taking it to play with the grandchildren. It's suitable for 8-year-olds but is interesting enough to keep the attention of adults so I hope they won't find it too childish. It's nice that both our daughters have kept an interest in playing card and board games, something we did a lot when they were young.
