FRIDAY IS SNAKE TIME.....AT LEAST TODAY

I know it's Flower Friday but, as I've said before, flowers are scarce around here this time of year, hence the snake.

GREEN TREE PYTHON (Morelia viridis); non-venomous as are all constrictors.  But they have a really nasty mouth full of recurved teeth. They are native to New Guinea and Indonesia.

They can grow to 5 or 6 feet and their diet consists mostly of small mammals, such as rodents, and sometimes reptiles, such as geckos and skinks.

Thought to be slimy, but they are not (most fish are slimy). They are exceptionally smooth and feel a lot like nylon stockings...at least to this biologist.  Yes, I've touched a lot of snakes, venomous and non-venomous. I prefer the non-venomous ones.
