Backblip

I think this is the most organised we've ever been when heading off on a short break!  Sitting down to lunch just after 12.30 then heading off on our journey to Northumberland just after 1.30pm.  I texted Agnes as we left and she and Adrian were just leaving too.

As we left, the fog was down, it was raining and pretty miserable.  As we approached Edinburgh the gloom lifted blue skies appeared and the sun came out.  Yay! :-)

We had a very pleasant journey and arrived at the cottage at 4.30pm.  The cottage is up a country lane surrounded by beautiful countryside but it was dark by now so we could only imagine.

We were just unpacking the car when Ian, the cottage owner, arrived to welcome us and pass on general housekeeping information and advise us on the best local restaurants.  Agnes and Adrian arrived a few minutes later.

Once unpacked David and Adrian headed to the pizza place recommended by Ian and got pizzas for dinner.  Had a very relaxing evening watching tv and planning our week.
