Candle

We spent the morning wandering Norwich. We grabbed a coffee and then started looking for somewhere for breakfast. That turned out to be harder than you would imagine as everywhere was full. We did try one place but the staff kept disappearing before we’d even been seated and we thought that might not make for speedy service. So, we ended up in the Weatherspoons (which Rob had suggested from the start) and had lovely cooked breakfast sat outside.

By now it was almost noon and we decided to take a look at the Cathedral which has its origins back to 1096. It was wonderfully peaceful and, as I often do when in a church, I lit a candle in memory of family no longer with us. There is something very calming about the inside of a church.

We headed out of Norwich to Cambridge mid-afternoon. It was (more-or-less) on the way home and we all thought it would be great to stop off and take a look at the university town. It was quite difficult navigating the traffic system and we’re pretty certain the sat-nav sent us down a bus lane (so I think somebody is going to get a fine). Eventually, we parked and wandered around. We stopped for beer at a little bar and bistro overlooking some impressive college buildings and had a delicious dinner in the courtyard of the Loch Fyne restaurant. Home just after 10pm,

It was a great weekend with lovely people.
