Short days

Awoke to a sunny morning and the three of us walked down town to shop for a few items. As we walked along the seafront the 'Isle of Lewis' was stoking the boilers ready for her sailing to Barra and not long afterwards I Blipped her heading out of the bay past the Cathedral. Shortly after this she will turn sharply to port and make her way up the Sound of Mull towards the open sea.

We had planned a walk after lunch, but nobody was very keen and we cheated by driving up to Pulpit Hill where we hoped to watch an early sunset. Unfortunately the skies had clouded over and instead we stood and watched the ‘Isle of Arran’ loading up the cars ready for her next sailing to Mull. A van broke down at the front of the queue and seemed likely to miss the voyage with the rest of the car park driving past it, but at the last minute it started and just managed to squeeze on!
