Cake and wine

Mark and Rob picked us up at about 10:30 and we drove to Portsmouth. Obviously, yesterday’s news was top of the conversation but we did manage to enjoy the ride and, after a wander around Gunwharf Quays and lunch at our regular haunt, Parade Tea Room, we took the 1pm cary ferry to Fishbourne. It was a decent crossing, made all the better for a glass of wine.

We’d arrived too early for our check-in so we headed to The Bargeman's Rest a Newport Quay where there was more food before heading to The Lakes for a check-in just before 5pm. The cabin is a little smaller than previous ones we have been to but it has a lovely view of the lake and there is a hot tub!

Before we settled in for the evening we took a trip to Asda to stock up on some items. Rob has made some cupcakes - several different varieties - which I have no doubt will be eaten.

There will be no diet on this holiday.
