Men At Work

This house belonged to a well-known florist whose shops we supplied with cut flowers and pot plants. It has remained unchanged on the other side of the Donkey Field ever since I came here over fifty years ago. The florist's wife died recently and it wasn't long before he joined her. The place has been sold and the new owners have been hard and noisily at work on it since. They have a penchant for bonfires.  I'm glad it isn't that close to our dwelling. What was a greenhouse has been turned into a flat-roofed building. Ollie dog and I watched a couple of men on the roof through a gap in the wooden wall of one of our sheds.
