Gentle and transitory

It’s strange to feel the need to apologise for yet another sunset, but I’m finding it hard to resist the ever-changing offerings of the current brighter weather.

Today at last, the heavy clouds have lifted from the west, so whilst there’s still a line obscuring the horizon, billowing cumulus cloud has been replaced by cirrus streaks and vapour trails that catch the light. Heavy blocks of gold have gone, replaced by delicate tracings of pink and mauve reflected in a calmer sea. A gentle and transitory sunset - there momentarily, then all too quickly gone.
