Now, as I see it......

All lit up

I saw that the railway was taking delivery of a new signal box this afternoon.  The box had been at Reedham station on the Norfolk Broads for many years, and is now to be installed at Holt as a visitor experience.  It will be made fully working as though it was still at Reedham, but non-operative order so that visitors can experience operating the signals and points themselves but without affecting the day to day operation of the railway.

The box was due to arrive around 4pm so I had a wander over to see if there was anything going on.  Apparently it was on a low loader with a police escort and the last they heard it was still around ten miles away travelling slowly, so it wasn't worth hanging around.  It had taken them all night last night to take it down so it was likely they will be working all night tonight to re-erect it at its new home.  I'll have a wander over once the work is completed.

While I was there I took a few shots around the station; this is the main station building that has been illuminated for the Norfolk Lights Express trains.
