Now, as I see it......

Star Plain Stores

Thanks for all the Anniversary wishes yesterday; we had a superb meal last night.  They have a Michelin Star and it's expensive so only a 'once or twice a year' place to go but well worth the money.  Our only worry is that it is small but clearly successful, so we hope they don't try and find larger premises out of town as we can walk to this one.

I walked into town this morning for a few things and took this shot on the way back.  This isn't the restaurant we went to last night; it's the 'Tapas style' place we went to with friends last Friday.  When we first moved here the building was empty for a long time which is unusual here, as empty shop units tend to get snapped up quickly.  However, it was during the Covid period.  They opened with a deli on the larger right side of the building and a little cafe bar on the left but I suspect they soon realised the cafe bar was making more money so swapped sides and moved the deli to the smaller space.  Not the sort of place to do your weekly shop but if you need that particular brand of olives or slice of bresaola, it's the place to go.  And they are one of only two places I know that sell the best frozen pizza I have ever tasted; made locally in two flavours and, I suspect, a match for anything you would get in Naples.
