Stumped

No, actually, for once I'm not stumped -- but these fungi are growing on a tree stump -- and they're called Gloeoporus dichrous. They're plain white on top, but more interestingly patterned underneath.

There are a goodly number of different fungi in our garden alone, and I decided these en masse would make a good image for the first Abstract Thursday of December. Thanks, as ever, to the tireless Ingeborg for hosting the challenge so capably.

It's been another foggy day, where the sun broke through tentatively for a very few minutes. Mr PP has been working outside nearly all day, sanding down another bookcase and doing other odd jobs. He was freezing, so happy to come in to homemade carrot and coriander soup for lunch, and a fancy sausage recipe for tonight's dinner.

Reminder to self: Wordle in two again!
