Feeding on flax nectar

For only the second time since I fell while running (in August), we came to the beach house. The weather hasn't encouraged coming north, but today was warm and sunny. S' younger brother and his wife are over from Melbourne, and it was good to see them.

Shortly after high tide I wen for a walk at South End of Snells Beach and around the point to Fidelis Beach. As I walked along the beach I saw and photographed a pair of Torea pango (the black morph of the oyster catcher.

I had just got back to the beach house when a Tui flew into the flax bushes at the front. It ignored my presence which meant that I could get some good photos.
