A Day In The Life

If you didn’t sleep much last night in anticipation of the next song on the top 25 holiday song list, I’ll put you out of your misery • Here’s #24: I’ll Be Home For Christmas by Kim Gannon, Walter Kent, Buck Ram, 1943, written originally to honor soldiers overseas. It was first recorded the same year by Bing Crosby. Other notable covers include Elvis and Johnny Mathis. Do you have a favorite version? I do love Bing, with Perry Como a close second :) • The three-man crew is still at work. First they dig a few feet, then inspect the sewer pipe for holes, add insulation, and cover. Repeat. One hole was found yesterday, but none today, so far. Per Douglas, the City Director, they hope to be done shortly after sunset today, otherwise everything should be wrapped up on Monday • If you hear cheering in the distance, that will be us • A trip to the Post Office to mail the last packages (Yee-Haw), then grocery shopping • Finally I updated our flags to reflect the new season, plus planted the solar tree and snowman near the front walkway. They looked so cute charging in the sun this afternoon :) • Happy Weekend to Everyone!
