Kentucky

We were up, dressed, fed and out the door by 8:15. Thankfully, I opened the back door to throw my coat in or we’d have left all my clothes hanging in the closet! Yikes! The top left pic is our windshield this morning. Not sure I have ever seen frost make those shapes. They were really neat. Otherwise, the day was uneventful. Well, except we saw beautiful horse ranches, large cattle farms, the Jim Beam bourbon distillery, other monstrous buildings storing Kentucky bourbon, the Sister of Charity (founded by a woman from our County) of Nazareth Mother house and church, tall layered foothills, rolling meadows, beautiful skies, flowing rivers and a huge castle. Plus, Brooklyn’s school basketball team won their first game with a score something like 32-3. She scored 4 points but her defense was her strong point. Obviously, I did not take that photo; her team is in blue and she is making the shot and closest to the camera. The detour through Bardstown/Nazareth cost us about an hour but it was well worth it. We should be at our hotel within an hour. Sure hope your Sunday was as exciting. Stay safe and healthy. Thanks for the visit and recent stars/comments. I caught up with journals a bit today. Will be viewing them again on the road trip tomorrow. Two weeks is a lot to catch up.
“Kentucky is my land.
It is a place beneath the wind and sun
In the very heart of America.
It is bounded on the east, north, and west by rivers
And on the south by mountains.
Only one boundary line is not a natural one,
It is a portion of southern boundary
That runs westward from the mountains
Across the delta lowlands to the Mississippi.
Within these natural boundaries is Kentucky,
Shaped like the mouldboard on a hillside turning-plow.
Kentucky is neither southern, northern, eastern, nor western,
It is the core of America.
If these United States could be called a body,
Kentucky can be called its heart.” - Jesse Stewart
