Merry Christmas Blippers!

Can computers be creative?

I designed this card using artificial intelligence- text to image by inputting a set of commands for a painting I wanted – in this case a ski resort in Japan.

What’s more the software is free (for three days) and it took seconds to create. I couldn't decide betweenthis one or the one in extra.

But, as a bunch of my artist friends said this afternoon (all very anti-computers) “ what about the process” “ It’s the process not the product”.
They have a valid point.

However, artificial intelligence is encroaching more and more into our daily lives- even in the art world, once considered the last bastion because computers could never emulate art and creativity.

Or could they?  Recently one won the prestigious Colorado Art Fair Prize. (See link).

The Guardian recently asked six leading British artists to create work using AI.
Here is what art critic , Jonathan Jones, has to say.
