Living my dream

By Mima

There are ferns popping up in the darker and damper parts of the property. All self-seeded. I welcome them.

It’s been a day of weeding: first in G’s garden and then Chez Mima. I don’t enjoy weeding, but I do like the outcomes. The herbaceous bed that I created over the winter has filled nicely with peonies, dahlias and a heap of annuals which I have planted there. It had also filled with nettles, clover and grass.

All of the weeds were given to the hens, who will magically turn them into eggs. And the bed will look wonderful when everything’s flowering.
