Something to crow about

We’re in Brisbane for a couple of nights for a family gathering. This morning we went to the Wynnum Wetlands where I photographed this crow. We were intrigued by a rattly sound and thinking of frogs, then realised it was made by this crow. This eBird website says that the Torresian Crow is the ‘default crow/raven’ of the Brisbane area and describes one of its calls as a ‘unique rattling croaking’. This call, though not exactly the same as we heard, is on the Listen link of the webpage, call number 4.

The extra shows a pair of Chestnut Teal in the same area.
