Shrinking Rose and Lily Flower ….

It’s been a quiet day of long FaceTime calls with friends we won’t see now until next year. It’s not stress free, however, as my GP practice has managed to mess up one of my prescriptions and I spend a frantic and frustrating time at the surgery trying to sort this out - urgent due to the fact that my supplies have to be ordered from Cardiff and time is running out before our departure.

The title of today’s blip for Flower Friday comes from a verse from William Mathias’ 1974 work, This Worlde’s Joie - performed at G’s concert last month. The work uses a collection of medieval verses and focuses on the passage of seasons representing the stages of human life. These dying flowers obviously link to winter - and whilst the concept of inevitable decay is hardly joyous, the message is that spring and rebirth will follow!

Many thanks for your generous response to Thursday’s Light Before Christmas. Still catching up ….
