Behind bars

This ixora plant is flowering nicely in our garden. They are a popular garden plant in this area. Originating in south and east Asia, they are well-suited to a sub-tropical environment. We've owned our town-house for 10 years, and the ixoras are flowering better this year than we've seen - possibly because of the very wet year we've had. There are many species and cultivar varieties - this one might be Ixora chinensis 'Prince of Orange'. There is more information on this webpage from Queensland Gardening.
